About
I grew up noticing the details that make pool life easier.
I’m Nikki, the writer and editor behind The Savvy Swimmer.
Experience behind the questions
My perspective comes from competitive swimming, water polo, lifeguarding, coaching, and teaching. Those roles taught me that the most useful answer is rarely “buy the fanciest thing” or “train harder.” It is usually about fit, context, rules, preparation, and knowing what to expect.
The Savvy Swimmer is for swimmers and parents trying to make a good decision without sorting through inflated product claims or insider shorthand.
What I do—and do not—claim
I am not presented here as a professional swimmer, physician, physical therapist, or product-testing laboratory. When a guide discusses health, safety, governing rules, or product specifications, it points to relevant sources and names its limitations.
Commercial articles are researched buyer guides. “Tested” appears only when there is documented first-hand testing to support it.
